Waive Dental Coverage
You may waive your dental coverage if you have other coverage (for example, through your spouse's employer). If you are a full-time employee and decide to waive dental coverage, you will receive a taxable $120* annual dental waiver payment, which will be divided equally among your 26 paychecks. This payment is considered income and is subject to tax withholding in the same manner as your regular pay. However, it is excluded from all benefit calculations. If you waive dental coverage, you will not be eligible for the $60 non-tobacco user dental credit.
If your spouse or same-sex domestic partner is also a Verizon Wireless employee and is covered as your dependent, he or she is not eligible to receive waiver payments. Part-time employees are also not eligible for waiver payments.
If you waive your dental coverage during your enrollment period, you may not elect dental coverage until the following Annual Employee Benefits Enrollment period held in the fall, unless you undergo a relevant qualified
status change during the plan year.
